Miramichi Lodge offers a wide range of services and programs designed for the well-being of all residents.
Nursing

The Lodge provides 24-hour individualized nursing care to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and social needs of the residents. A multi-disciplinary approach to care is practiced in the Lodge, which includes the involvement of the resident and family whenever possible. In addition to an onsite Nurse Practitioner, there are regularly attending Physicians.

Food Service
The Food Services Department, with the assistance of a Registered Dietitian, serves a variety of meals and snacks to the residents of the Lodge and ensures a pleasurable dining experience. The Lodge provides many special dining events, such as candlelit dinners, theme dinners and barbeques. Family participation is always encouraged. Meals are served in all Home dining rooms with access to screened-in terraces or secured outdoor gardens.

Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is an essential community service provided by the Home. It promotes the well being and independence of persons living in the community who are unable to attend to their own nutritional needs. Hot nutritious meals are delivered by volunteers Monday to Friday (lunch meal) to clients living in the Pembroke and Petawawa community. Pastoral Services
Miramichi Lodge provides spiritual support through an organized pastoral care program, which responds to the needs and desires of the residents. Regularly scheduled multi-faith services are held in the chapel. |

Recreation & Rehabilitation Programs
Recreational programs and activities contribute to the physical, intellectual, social and psychosocial well-being of a wide variety of individuals that make Miramichi Lodge their home. Recreation Programmers provide a wide range of activities on a daily basis, including large and small groups, individual visits and community outings. Physiotherapy services are provided on site and include daily exercises, individualized and group programs as well as therapeutic programs as prescribed. When required, the services of an occupational therapist or speech pathologist may be accessed through the Community Care Access Centre. |

Long Term Care Program
Miramichi Lodge practices the Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care, which seeks to eliminate boredom, loneliness and helplessness, by providing children and animal companionship and the opportunity to care for other living things like plants, fish, birds and our newest addition to the Home – “Sydney”; a mixed border collie/lab dog. |
Housekeeping, Laundry & Maintenance
A key focus of this group is to provide prompt, efficient support to the residents and departments, long term cost effective strategies in the maintenance and care of the equipment, grounds and facility. |

Education

Miramichi Lodge supports the ongoing education of staff with a special focus in caring for individuals with dementia and palliative care.

Respite Program
Miramichi Lodge offers 2 short-stay beds for Respite care, supportive care or short stay crisis. This program provides a reprieve for the caregiver by allowing us to provide 24-hour nursing care to their loved one. The short-stay rooms are fully furnished and all supportive services are provided at the fee set by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. The cost is subject to change annually.
