  Long Term Care Program

Jake and Mr. Deoring

Bonnechere Manor provides long-term care services to 177 residents within six unit  "Homes". Two of these "Homes" specialize in Alzheimer / Dementia Care through the Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care, which seeks to eliminate boredom, loneliness and helplessness, by providing children and animal companionship and the opportunity to care for other living things like plants and fish. Every "Home" consists of a private and semi-private fully furnished bedrooms, small intimate dining rooms, activity room with kitchenette service, therapy/exercise room, and lounges with colour cabled televisions, telephone/computer services, and gas fireplaces.

Our long-term care service provides 24-hour nursing care by Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Personal Support Worker and Health Care Aides under the direction of the Medical Director, Attending Physicians and Nurse Practitioner. Rehabilitation services are provided in-house by our Restorative Care Workers and Active Health Physiotherapy.
