The central fire dispatching system for the County consists of two elements, call-taking / dispatching and technology management:
Call-taking and dispatching services are provided under contract by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, through the Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC), which is located in the Town of Renfrew. A contract for service was initially signed in 1999 and was renegotiated for 2004 - 2009. This component is managed by the Emergency Services Department.
The communications system is technologically integrated with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care ambulance dispatch centre. The County owns and maintains the communications equipment necessary to accommodate the fire dispatching service through the Public Works & Engineering Department.
