BBBBBrrrrrrrr, welcome winter, hey after a fall like we just had and a green Christmas you will get no complaints from me.
Well a new year, new hopes and a trail of broken new year’s resolutions already for many. I always chuckle as a person who visits yard sales at the sheer volume of exercise equipment that is literally “brand new” that is for sale every year. It is simply human nature to set goals and objectives that are unrealistic and unreasonable with the best of intentions. Many of these personal goals are set without a “cheerleader” to encourage and support us when we are despondent and need a boost to achieve that which we are working towards. This brings me to the most critical aspect of management; LEADERSHIP. Not just leadership but meaningful, professional, supportive leadership that focuses on the four key functions of directing, coaching, supporting and delegating. There exists no one best leadership approach, it takes a committed Manager/Supervisor to properly assess an employee’s development level and apply the correct leadership approach so that an employee can grow, learn, develop and make a positive contribution to their workplace. We believe at the County of Renfrew that this is the environment that we operate under and if this is attractive to you I would encourage you to apply for the next appropriate vacancy and come grow with us!
