Greetings; well if there is one thing that will define us this fall, it is the recent municipal elections and the volume of change at all levels in terms of political leadership across Ontario. Here at the County of Renfrew that means 12 of 17 council seats are new incumbents. It is important to recognize our departing elected officials and the time, effort and leadership that each of them put in to make our County a better place to live, a personal thank you goes out to all of them. To the incoming 12 elected officials and the returning 5 the staff at the County of Renfrew are eager to work with them in balancing limited resources to meet the service expectations of the local taxpayers. It is anticipated that our new council will continue to provide the leadership required for sustainable professional services at the upper tier level. Leadership is not in any way easy, at the County of Renfrew we have defined it as an influence process; It is working with people to accomplish their goals and the goals of the organization!
Our other significant news is the introduction of a new tagline for the County of Renfrew. After a public contest, at the October session of County Council our existing council cast the final votes and selected the new County of Renfrew tagline; Experience our history, share our future! I know that many of us are proud to live and work in Renfrew County and our new tagline captures our spirit of promoting the County of Renfrew to the world.
