Miramichi Lodge, located in the City of Pembroke, is a non-profit, 166 bed long-term care home. It is owned and operated by the County of Renfrew and City of Pembroke and has provided quality care to the frail and elderly since 1969.

In January 2005, Residents and Staff moved to our brand new, state-of-the-art home located at 725 Pembroke Street West. What makes Miramichi Lodge particularly unique is the natural setting along the Ottawa River overlooking the Kiwanis Walkway and beside Riverside Park featuring paths that link to these areas.
Miramichi Lodge operates under the direction of the Administrator and is regulated by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care under the Long-Term Care Homes Act 5.0.2007, which came into force July 1, 2010. The Lodge is a non-smoking facility and property.
Accreditation Canada has awarded a Three Year Accreditation Award to Miramichi Lodge. This represents the highest award granted by the CCHSA. The Accreditation process provides us with the opportunity to benchmark our services to national services and assists us in our continuous quality improvements.
The Home provides 24 hour nursing and personal care, nutritious meals and snacks, activation and recreation, rehabilitation, palliative and pastoral care, housekeeping, laundry and administrative support.
The Lodge has an annual budget in excess of approximately $11M and employs over 200 staff.
The Home provides:
- large, tastefully furnished rooms with a choice of either private or basic (2 residents)
- large windows with built-in window ledge for plants, books, photographs etc.
- fully electric bed with matching nightstand, spacious wardrobe and comfortable chair Residents are encouraged to bring in pictures, ornaments, and other treasures to individualize their room.
- hookup for cable television and phone in every Resident room
- beautiful secured gardens with various seating areas, paved walkways and flowerbeds
- a "community" atmosphere that includes close and continuing contact with children and animals
