Whether it is the Foundation's Annual Gala or Paddlequest events, fashion show, comedy night, monthly bingo or the sale of Discovery Toys, 100% effort goes into everything they do. The Foundation meets 4 to 5 times a year to plan its fund-raising strategies.

How You Can Make A Difference
Become a volunteer! It’s been said that ‘many hands make light work’. Come share your talent, your expertise and your time with us. Your time commitment is relatively minimal, but your impact is immeasurable. Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of those who cared for us. You can commit to an ongoing project or just a one time event. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet some great people and have loads of fun.
Ongoing activities that the Foundation requires volunteers for include our monthly Bingo at Stafford Bingo Country; raffle ticket sales; and our annual signature events - our Gala and Paddlequest.
For more information about these events and how you can help please contact one of our volunteers or e-maildcotnam@countyofrenfrew.on.ca or call 613-735-4693 ext 123 WE WANT YOU!!!
Support our Fund-raising Events by attending them and making your family and friends aware of them as well. All events are posted on this website as well they are advertised in the community... watch for us!
Plan Your Own Event If you have an idea for a fund-raising event we want to hear from you. We will work together to make it happen. If you are running your own event and would like the proceeds of it to come to the Miramichi Lodge Foundation a charitable tax receipt can be provided.
Become a Financial Supporter There are many ways to make a financial contribution to the Foundation. Please check out our ‘Donation Information’ listed below on the web site.
Donation Information
All financial donations made to the Foundation will receive a charitable tax receipt. We accept cash, cheques, VISA and MasterCard. (You can also make online donations at www.canadahelps.org )
Gift-in-Kind donations are also accepted if they meet the criteria set out by the charities directorate. Items donated to Miramichi Lodge that are deemed useful or necessary and are accompanied with proper invoicing documentation can be receipted. In kind gifts are defined as gifts of property other than cash (i.e. cheques and credit card payments) and marketable securities. Examples of gifts in kind include: supplies, equipment, books, artwork.
Items and services that are donated to the Miramichi Lodge Foundation for use in raffles or silent auctions will also receive a charitable tax receipt when presented with the proper paper work
Planned Giving is a set of ways a donor can leave money/assets to a nonprofit at his/her death; or a way to invest money so that the donor receives benefits during his/her life and then bequeaths the remaining funds to the nonprofit. Planned Giving is a complex program of various financial instruments that can be adapted to each donor's needs. It is recommended to consult your lawyer, insurance agent or financial advisor when discussing your options.
A Lasting Legacy - Wills & Bequests
A transfer of property from an estate to a named individual or organization is a bequest. A bequest to charity entitles the donor to an estate tax deduction for the full value of the property transferred. There is a considerable tax advantage for you and your estate by planning your lasting testimony and recognized generosity. Your lawyer should assist you with this important planning. It is most often done through your will.
Life Insurance, Annuities, RRSP or RTIF's
Gifts of life insurance are within the means of most people and are often chosen because a relatively small, tax-deductible premium can provide a substantial gift to us. Also by donating a fully paid policy that has a cash surrender value, you may be entitled to a substantial tax refund now. Your life insurance agent or financial advisor can assist you with this matter.
