Residents Rooms
Residents can choose between a private room or a basic (shared) room. The rates for preferred (private) and basic accommodations are set by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC).
Miramichi Lodge private resident rooms were designed to be 50 square feet larger than the Ministry requirement. This additional space allows for a large private sleeping area with room for additional resident furniture and a private ensuite washroom.
There are 100 private rooms.
- MOHLTC Minimum Standard: 130 square feet per resident
- Miramichi Lodge: 180 square feet per resident
Miramichi Lodge basic resident rooms were designed to be 35 square feet larger than the Ministry requirement which includes a private sleeping area separated by a wall / privacy curtain and a shared ensuite washroom with one other resident.
There are 33 basic rooms.
- MOHLTC Minimum Standard: 115 square feet per resident
- Miramichi Lodge: 150 square feet per resident
Six Resident Home Areas (RHA)
Each Resident Home Area (RHA) offers:
Small intimate unit of 27 – 28 residents; two are specialized Dementia care units
Spa containing a therapeutic tub, shower and ensuite washroom, each with heated towel racks
Access to outdoor terraces, secure gardens and walking paths that link the Kiwanis Walkway and Riverside Park
Large, bright activity room
Centrally located home-like dining room
Sunroom with a fabulous view of the Ottawa River, Riverside Park and the community
Spacious lounge area with electric fireplace
