 Located
in the south-eastern end of Renfrew County, the Township of Greater
Madawaska is one of the largest Townships. Significant
Crown owed lands afford visitors and residents alike hundreds of
excellent fishing lakes and thousands of acres for outdoor
activities all year long.
We are a tourism area with recreation facilities
for everyone! Most facilities are privately owned such as
Calabogie Peaks Four Seasons Resort boasting one of Eastern
Ontario's largest vertical drop ski hills; a 27-hole golf course at
Calabogie Highlands, located in Barryvale, along with time-share
units; a large time-share resort at Calabogie Lodge, located, on
Calabogie Lake, complete with indoor pool and tennis courts.
We have Bed & Breakfast facilities, fine
restaurants, and two mini-putt courses. Located twenty minutes
west of the Highway 417 corridor, the major transportation route
through the Ottawa Valley, the Township is a four season recreation
playground with something for everyone to do and enjoy!
