
Mayor Jack Wilson is the longest serving member of Renfrew County Council. Jack originally served on Pembroke Twp. Councils prior to amalgamation with Alice & Fraser Twps. Jack first arrived at County Council in 1983 when the County Building was in downtown Pembroke. Jack is a lifelong farmer and resides on Wilson Road in the Township. One of Jack’s greatest passions is the promotion of local agriculture. In fact, the 1994 International Plowing Match took place on a section of Jack’s property. One of Jack’s main responsibilities has been his role as Chair of the Renfrew County & District Health Unit. As Chair of the Health Unit, Jack assists in the coordination of policy and funding. Currently, Jack serves on the County’s Operations and Health Committees. When Jack is not busy in his politics, he enjoys fishing and hunting. Jack is also a member of the 150th Anniversary Expo Committee planning for the June 9-12, 2011 Exposition.
