Petawawa hosts Taste of the Valley market September 19
The County of Renfrew's Economic Development Division is pleased to highlight the next stop for the Taste of the Valley series, an annual celebration of the people, products, and experiences that make Renfrew County a unique and vibrant place to live, work, and visit.
Originally launched more than a decade ago to showcase local food producers across the Ottawa Valley, Taste of the Valley has grown into one of the region's premier local food and artisan events. Today, the series highlights the area's rich agricultural heritage while celebrating locally crafted food and beverages, handmade products, visual arts, and cultural experiences created throughout Renfrew County.
The third Taste of the Valley event of the 2026 season will take place in Petawawa on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Petawawa Civic Centre (16 Civic Centre Road). The event marks the municipality's second time hosting the festival in the past three years.
Approximately 115 vendors from across Renfrew County will be on site, offering fresh local produce, handcrafted goods, artwork, baked treats, prepared foods, specialty products, and more. With exhibitors located both indoors and outdoors, visitors can enjoy a full day of shopping, exploring, and connecting with local farmers, food producers, artists, and artisans, rain or shine.
"Get ready to eat, explore and experience the Taste of the Valley Food Festival in Petawawa on Saturday, September 19. It will be a delicious celebration of local flavours, talented food vendors, artisans and the people who make the Ottawa Valley such a vibrant place to visit," said Petawawa Mayor Gary Serviss.
"With its exciting mix of food, drink, crafts and community spirit, the event offers another great reason for residents and visitors alike to discover all that Petawawa has to offer. Petawawa is hungry to celebrate this amazing gastronomical event; we welcome you to join us in raising a fork to the incredible tastes and flavours of the Ottawa Valley," the Mayor added.
Taste of the Valley events are presented in partnership with host municipalities throughout Renfrew County. Remaining 2026 events include:
- Town of Petawawa – September 19, Petawawa Civic Centre
- Township of Whitewater Region – October 17, Cobden Fairgrounds
- Town of Renfrew – December 12, Holiday Edition, Renfrew Armouries
"Petawawa provides the perfect backdrop for our September Taste of the Valley event," said Scott Hamilton, Economic Development Coordinator with Invest Renfrew County. "Taste of the Valley showcases the incredible variety and quality of products created right here in the Ottawa Valley. It's an opportunity for residents and visitors to meet the people behind these businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and experience the best our region has to offer."
The Taste of the Valley series continues to support local economic development by creating opportunities for producers, makers, artists, and small businesses to connect directly with consumers while encouraging residents and visitors to shop local and explore communities across Renfrew County.
