The County of Renfrew is responsible for approximately 816 km of road and 251 bridges and culverts. We offer an adopt-a-road program, conduct environmental assessments and work to maintain our roads for your safety.

We issue a variety of road permits, such as:
- Entrance Permits
- Municipal Consent - Municipal Consent is the municipality’s authorization for a utility to occupy a specific location(s) within the municipalities right-of-way. Municipal Consent will only be issued to utility companies, commissions, agencies, other municipalities, or private applicants who have a municipal access agreement with the municipality applied to. The project of adding or modifying the plant is often subject to a Work in Right-of-Way permit.

2026 Public Notice Pesticide Use
The County of Renfrew intends to utilize Wagar & Corput Weed Control Inc., to control noxious weeds along County of Renfrew rural roadsides. For exact roadside locations, please visit the County of Renfrew website.
The contractor will be using the following pesticides registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada):
- Navius FLEX (Reg. #30922), containing the active ingredients Metsulfuron-methyl and Aminocyclopyrachlor.
- Hasten NT Ultra (Reg. # 31760), containing the active ingredients Methyl and ethyl oleate (esterified vegetable oil).
Pesticide use is in accordance with the Public Works exception to the cosmetic pesticides ban for the promotion of public health or safety. The work will commence between June 15, 2026 (weather permitting) and end July 15, 2026.
