Butterfly Model of Care
In pursuit of a care delivery model that embraces the personhood of each resident, County of Renfrew Long-Term Care Homes, Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew and Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke have adopted the internationally renowned Butterfly Model of Care. Developed by Meaningful Care Matters™, the model focuses on the delivery of emotion-based care supported in an environment that is both stimulating and as home-like as possible. Further to this endeavour, Bonnechere Manor recently completed the Chrysalis Program, in preparation for Butterfly Home certification in the coming year. Earlier this year Miramichi Lodge achieved Butterfly Home certification as one of only four Homes in Canada awarded “Outstanding” status. We are please to present our recent Miramichi Lodge Butterfly video as an illustration of the program at work.
