Renfrew County invites nominations for 2026 Warden's Community Service Awards

The County of Renfrew is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Warden's Community Service Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions made by individuals, not-for-profit organizations, and for-profit businesses across the region.

The awards celebrate the spirit of community service and honour those who go above and beyond to make Renfrew County a better place to live, work, and play. Through volunteerism, leadership, innovation, and community support, nominees exemplify the values of compassion, dedication, and civic pride that strengthen communities across the county.

"The strength of Renfrew County lies in the people and organizations who give their time, talents, and resources to support others," said Warden Jennifer Murphy. "These awards recognize the volunteers, community groups, and businesses that go above and beyond to make our communities more vibrant, welcoming, and resilient. I encourage residents to help us recognize these remarkable contributions by submitting a nomination for someone who is making a meaningful difference in our county."

Who Can Be Nominated?

Individual Award – Individuals who contribute to community life through volunteer work, event organization, political engagement, sports leadership, cultural preservation, or other activities that enhance community well-being.

Not-for-Profit Organization Award – Not-for-profit organizations that provide valuable services, programs, and support to residents, particularly those who may be facing challenges or barriers.

For-Profit Business Award – Businesses that demonstrate exceptional corporate citizenship through sponsorships, volunteer initiatives, support for community programs, investment in arts and culture, youth development, or other community-building efforts.

Residents are encouraged to nominate individuals, organizations, or businesses whose efforts have made a meaningful and lasting impact in their communities.

Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of Warden Jennifer Murphy, the County's Director of Development and Property, and one member of County Council. Nominees will be evaluated based on their contributions to enhancing quality of life and building stronger communities throughout Renfrew County.
