The County of Renfrew Child Care and Early Years Division offers child care supports and services to parents and young children throughout the county.
On March 28, 2022, the Province of Ontario announced the new Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) provincial/federal agreement for Licensed Child Care Programs to provide an average of $10 per day child care fee by September 2025.
Over the course of the next few months the County of Renfrew, Child Care and Early Years Division, will be working with Licensed Child Care Operators and the Province of Ontario to ensure the program is rolled out in a timely manner. The first steps will encompass working with operators who wish to enroll in the program. Please find helpful links below:
Child Care Fee Subsidy is a program to assist eligible families with the cost of licensed child care for children up to 13 years of age. Fee subsidy supports eligible families by paying up to 100% of the child care costs. Licensed child care options include licensed child care centres, nursery school, licensed home child care, approved recreation programs or school based extended day programs.

Planning and Design Guidelines for Licensed Child Care Centres (the “design guidelines”), provides provincially focused information on the planning, design, construction, renovation and maintenance of licensed child care centres. The Child Care and Early Years Division is the service system manager for provincial funding for licensed child care and EarlyON Child and Family Centres. We also operate a Licensed Home Child Care agency in the County of Renfrew.
