Ontario Works financial assistance is available for people with little or no income. When applying for assistance, our staff will help connect you to other services and benefits that you can qualify for.
Follow the steps below so you can successfully complete the Ontario Works application process.

Verification interview |
The Verification Interview is an in-office meeting attended by yourself and any family member 18 years of age or older (if they are included in your application). During this meeting an Ontario Works Agent will help you complete necessary paperwork for your application. This includes reviewing and signing documents such as:

Eligibility decision |
Once the Verification Interview is completed and required documents submitted, we will let you know if you qualify for financial assistance. The amount of assistance issued is set by the Province of Ontario. It is based on how many people are included in your application and any other income that you (and your family) are receiving. If you do not qualify for Ontario Works, we will try to provide you with information to help you with your circumstances. |
MyBenefits is a service that allows Ontario Works clients to get information about their case and report income or address changes online. For more information or to register, access the Ontario Government's MyBenefits page.
Vendors who receive payments on behalf of social assistance recipients can now register to receive payments online. Vendors can sign up for direct bank deposit by following the instructions on this pamphlet and fill out the Form 006-3216: Direct Bank Deposit (Electronic Funds Transfer) Enrolment / Change of Information Third Party Payees.
