Renfrew County Housing Corporation (RCHC) is a community housing provider in the County of Renfrew with over 1000 community housing units. The RCHC provides rent-geared-to-income (RGI) and affordable rental options to low-income households in the County of Renfrew.

Canada-Ontario Housing Benefit | ||||||||||||
The Canada-Ontario Housing Benefit (COHB) provides a direct monthly payment to eligible households to help with the expense of rent. The benefit is portable and is based on household income and local average market rent rates. Eligible households include survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, indigenous people, seniors, and people with disabilities. To qualify, households must be eligible to be on the rent-geared-to income housing registry waitlist. To apply, applicants must contact the Renfrew County Housing Corporation to submit their application. COHB funding is limited and approximately 55 applications can be approved for the period of April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. COHB eligibility is calculated as follows: (Average Market Rent X 80%) – (Annual Family Net Income X 30%/12) Average Market Rent examples:

Ontario Renovates is a program that provides financial assistance to homeowners by way of a forgivable loan to help pay for necessary repairs. St. Joseph's Non-Profit Housing Corporation provides a mix of rent-geared-to-income & market rent housing for seniors and families in Pembroke. The senior complex has 90 one bedroom apartments with laundry facilities, common rooms and elevators. There are three wheelchair accessible apartments in the seniors complex. It has one and two bedroom units with laundry facilities included in the rent plus a common room with full kitchen facilities. We have an elevator to help those with walkers and wheelchairs go from floor to floor. It is a mix of market and rent-geared-to-income with an adopted Cascading Age Policy.
