Independent Contractor – Foot Care Nurse Services

1. Introduction

Miramichi Lodge is seeking proposals from qualified individuals to provide professional foot care services to residents on a contract basis. This is an independent contractor opportunity.

2. Scope of Work

The successful contractor will:

• Provide routine and advanced foot care services to residents.
• Conduct assessments and document findings.
• Educate residents on foot hygiene and preventative care.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols.
• Collaborate with nursing staff when referrals or follow-up care is needed.

3. Contractor Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Licensing & Certification:

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Completion of a recognized Advanced Foot Care Nursing Program.
• Optional but preferred: Certified Foot Care Nurse (CFCN®) designation.

Professional Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience providing foot care, preferably in long-term care or community settings.
• Proof of professional liability insurance.
• Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
• Compliance with CNO’s Independent Practice Guidelines.

4. Proposal Submission Requirements

Interested candidates must submit:

• A cover letter outlining interest and relevant experience.
• Resume or CV.
• Proof of nursing license and foot care certification.
• Copy of liability insurance.
• Fee schedule for services.
• Two professional references.

5. Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

• Qualifications and experience.
• Compliance with regulatory standards.
• Cost-effectiveness.
• References and reputation.
• Ability to meet the needs of our residents.

6. Terms and Conditions

The selected contractor will enter into a formal agreement with The County of Renfrew – Miramichi Lodge.

The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business operations.

This role is not governed by the collective agreement and does not constitute employment.

General Information
1. This submission is for the supply and delivery of two (2) Ontario certified Emergency Response Vehicle (ERVs).
2. Submissions are to be received by email to Dave Libby, (A) Deputy Chief-Planning and Logistics, dlibby@countyofrenfrew.on.ca, and copied to Glenn Villeneuve gvilleneuve@countyofrenfrew.on.ca no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, January 24th, 2025.
3. Award may not be considered if the product on which a price is submitted, does not meet all the requirements specified.
4. Promised delivery date will be considered in the awarding this contract.
5. Award is subject to budget, council approval and is the sole discretion of the County of Renfrew.
6. These specifications only list the major details of a unit; therefore, it is the supplier's responsibility to deliver fully equipped vehicles with components that comply with these specifications in all aspects and provide dependable, efficient service. Where minimums are called for, the vehicles/equipment must meet or exceed the capacity, size and performance specified.
7. Vehicles must meet the provisions of the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act and the Regulations made there under, which are in effect on the date of manufacturing of each vehicle.
8. Vehicles must be certified and meet the requirements for an ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle) under the Ontario Provincial Land Ambulance and Emergency Response Vehicle Standard version 6.1.
9. Quoted units must comply with the following specifications in all aspects.
