The County of Renfrew has received a donation of 4,000 procedure masks from the Canadian Tire COVID-19 Response Fund to go towards front line workers in the County. This donation will be divided amongst several health care providers across Renfrew County, including Bonnechere Manor and Miramichi Lodge, and the County of Renfrew Paramedic Services.
David Norton, Environmental Services Supervisor at Bonnechere Manor, who lead the application to Canadian Tire COVID-19 Response Fund, shared this “My wife informed me that Canadian Tire was reaching out to those in need. I sent an email explaining who I was and where I worked, along with challenges we were facing.” Not long after Mr. Norton was contacted by Canadian Tire Corporation and informed that they would be donating a large quantity of masks to the be distributed across Renfrew County to front-line workers.
Since the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been in high demand to keep staff and residents, as safe as possible. The County of Renfrew has accepted this donation, as it will help to alleviate the stress on several health care services across the county in terms of PPE supply for front line workers amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. These masks will continue to help ensure the safety of front-line workers and residents in Renfrew County during this challenging time.

This donation will assist our staff and others to continue to be safe while providing care to the most vulnerable in our community”, said Warden of The County of Renfrew Debbie Robinson.
