Due to a temporary water disruption within the City of Pembroke, Miramichi Lodge long-term care home has initiated an emergency response, which includes a water tanker truck providing water to the facility.

This morning Miramichi Lodge long-term care home began active response to a temporary water disruption within the City of Pembroke and has implemented measures to ensure the continued safety, comfort, and care of residents.
The Lodge is now being supplied with non-potable water through a dedicated water tank truck. This supply is connected to an electric pump that delivers water into the building’s system. While pressure from this temporary setup will be lower than usual, it is sufficient to support essential functions.

Staff has implemented enhanced support procedures to ensure residents experience as little disruption as possible. The situation will be closely monitored as the team at Miramichi Lodge is working in coordination with County of Renfrew Emergency Services, the City of Pembroke and external partners to maintain stability and restore normal service as soon as possible. The home will be utilizing an external service to assist with laundry needs.
“We recognize that this situation may cause inconvenience for families,” said Dean Quade, Acting Director of Long-Term Care for the County of Renfrew. “While the Lodge remains fully operational, families who wish to take their loved ones home for the weekend are welcome to do so, provided usual sign-out procedures are followed.”
We understand that situations like this can cause concern, but the County of Renfrew assures residents and families that all safety and care standards are being upheld. Staff is working diligently to ensure residents remain comfortable and that the home continues to operate safely.
