Pembroke, (ON): Enterprise Renfrew County is excited to announce the Starter Company Plus Spring 2024 grant award recipients.

The Starter Company Plus program provides three months of business coaching, business plan and cash flow projection development, mentoring and instruction from staff and professional trainers. At the end of the program there is an opportunity for participants to compete, by pitching their business plan, for a grant of up to $5,000 to be applied to their business operations.

With more than 20 dedicated entrepreneurs fast-tracking development of their business, marketing, and financial plans during the training, the following individuals successfully earned grant awards totalling $42,000:

Tyler Armstrong of Pinnacle Haven Farms located in Horton Township; Maria Arvizu of Salsa Sabor a Mexico located in the United Townships of Head, Clara and Maria; Tyson Bromley of Bromley Acres Wagyu located in Laurentian Valley Township; Zuzana Keslerova of Kesler Architect located in McNab/Braeside Township; Hani Morsi of Montu Canada located in Arnprior; Alyssa Pearce of Barron Canyon Coffee & Tea Co. located in Petawawa; Shawna Plotz of Bloom Wildly located in Bonnechere Valley Township; Noelle Shangraw of Ottawa Valley Sports located in Petawawa; Tauney Stinson of Forager Bee located in Renfrew; and Bronwyn Wearring of White Forest Farm located in Whitewater Region.

"The Starter Company Plus program was incredibly beneficial for me as a new business owner,” states Noelle Shangraw, Founder and CEO of Ottawa Valley Sports. “It provided a wealth of information on integrating legal aspects, taxes, marketing strategies, and business planning. This comprehensive program was extremely helpful in identifying areas where I still need to grow and focus on building my business successfully.”

She adds the program equipped her with the tools and knowledge to navigate the complexities of starting, running and building a business.

“I am truly grateful for the guidance and support, the entirety of the program provided. Big thanks for this incredible program for our growing community of entrepreneurs," Shangraw says.

Information sessions for the fall training program of Starter Company Plus are scheduled for August 13 from 10-11 a.m. and August 15 from 1-2 p.m. For more information and to register for an information session visit www.enterpriserenfrewcounty.com/starter-company-plus or contact Heather Inwood-Montrose, Small Business Advisor.
