The County of Renfrew’s Economic Development Division is proud to present the Taste of the Valley event series – an annual celebration of all things grown, made, and created right here in Renfrew County.
Originally launched more than a decade ago to spotlight local food producers in the Ottawa Valley, Taste of the Valley has grown into a vibrant showcase of the region’s diverse offerings. Today, the event embraces a broader interpretation of “taste,” celebrating not only local food, but also handcrafted products, visual arts, and cultural experiences that reflect the unique spirit of our communities.
The third event of the 2025 Taste of the Valley season is in Calabogie on Saturday, September 20, being held at the Calabogie Rink and Community Hall (574 Mill Street) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Calabogie event will feature 70 vendors outdoors on the floor of the covered rink. This all-outside event runs rain or shine and offers ample parking for visitors. The offerings will include fresh local produce alongside unique handcrafted products from talented artists and artisans, as well as baked goods, prepared hot food, jams and preserves from bakers and food producers across Renfrew County.
“You'll not find a more fun-filled event in all the land than the Calabogie Taste of the Valley,” said Greater Madawaska Mayor Taylor Popkie. “Come on out and interact with your favourite vendors. Fill your bellies and stock up on goods old and new. It's going to be amazing to see everyone there, and to welcome vendors and visitors alike, that will be coming from well beyond our own communities. Greater Madawaska is thrilled to be hosting such an event!”
Upcoming Taste of the Valley events in 2025 are being held in partnership with the host municipalities:
“Taste of the Valley is a dynamic celebration of Renfrew County’s local culture and community,” says Scott Hamilton, Economic Development Coordinator with the County of Renfrew. “These events offer a unique opportunity to connect with the farmers, artisans, and creators who shape our region, while enjoying the flavours and craftsmanship that make Renfrew County truly exceptional.”
