Event returns to Petawawa for the first time in more than a decade

The Taste of the Valley vendor market – the third event in the 2024 series – is taking place on Saturday, September 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Petawawa at the Petawawa Civic Centre.

Organized by the County of Renfrew’s Economic Development Division, the Taste of the Valley event series highlights all things grown, made and created in Renfrew County. While the original concept for the Taste of the Valley was to promote and support local food producers in the Ottawa Valley, over the years the events have evolved to encourage an expanded focus on the notion of “taste” with the celebration of local food, products, art and culture.

The Petawawa event will feature more than 85 vendors set up in the parking lot of the Petawawa Civic Centre and will include fresh local produce alongside unique handcrafted products from talented artists and artisans, as well as baked goods, prepared hot food, jams and preserves from bakers and food producers across Renfrew County.

"The Town of Petawawa welcomes you to experience and discover a curated selection of handcrafted goods and delicious foods that showcase the best from local entrepreneurs in our region at the upcoming Taste of the Valley event," says Christine Mitchell, Manager of Economic Development for the Town of Petawawa.

Under a new approach which began in 2023, Taste of the Valley events in 2024 are being held in partnership with host municipalities in Madawaska Valley; Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards; Petawawa, and Whitewater Region, drawing thousands of visitors from the Ottawa Valley, Ottawa and surrounding areas. The 2024 Holiday edition is being hosted in partnership with the Town of Renfrew.

“We are thrilled to be returning to Petawawa for Taste of the Valley after more than a decade. Our last event in Petawawa was in 2013 and we couldn’t be more excited to return once again to showcase the incredible vendors and products from across the region,” says Scott Hamilton, Economic Development Coordinator with the County of Renfrew’s Economic Development Division. “We look forward to seeing both familiar faces and new visitors join us for this special event.”
